Proposal to give district status to Murree and rename it as Kohsar District
Murree Tehsil in Rawalpindi has been recommended to be given district status and renamed Kohsar District.
According to sources, the establishment of a Kohsar Development Authority for the tourist sector has also been recommended.
Usman Bazdar, the Punjab Chief Minister, gave orders to turn Murree into a Kohsar district and establish the Kohsar Development Authority.
The Board of Revenue has been asked for ideas on demarcating the Kohsar district, according to sources. Suggestions for which locations will be included in the new district are being developed. Chief Secretary and Senior Member of the Board of Revenue’s Recommendations It’s been asked for.
According to sources, the new Kohsar district will be limited to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the boundaries of the Rawalpindi district being altered as well.
According to sources, the Punjab Chief Minister has asked the concerned officials to consult the Assembly members. Construction and development, as well as rescue and relief, will be handled by the Kohsar Development Authority, with special funding allocated to the new district for the procurement of machinery.
It may be recalled that after the tragedy in Murree a few days ago, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar on the occasion of his visit to Murree had announced to give district status to the tourist destination of the country.
