ISLAMABAD: The Government is Taking Initiatives to Boost Tourism in the Nation, according to the President
President Dr. Arif Alvi says that the tourism industry is booming, which will not only help Pakistan’s image but also help generate revenue.
As the president of Pakistan, President Dr. Arif Alvi told at a conference on the day before International Mountain Day that the government is taking many steps to make the country a better place for tourists.
He said that Pakistan needs to build up its human resources in this area. Universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan have already started short courses in hotel management and tourism.

The President said that locals should help build infrastructure in tourist areas so that tourists have more things to do.
People in the audience were told by Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana, the Managing Director of Pakistan’s Tourism Development Corporation, that a national tourism plan has been drawn up to help promote tourism in the country.
That’s what he said. The Prime Minister is watching the progress of the tourism development and facilitation process himself.
As the MD said, restructuring has been done to make the company more efficient.
It has been broken up into zones in KP, GB, and Punjab provinces for different types of tourism, he said. He also said that the PTDC has set up helpline number 1422 for questions and information about tourism. Also, he said, the country is taking steps to make it more popular for people to come to see religious things.
