Balcony Ideas for Your Little Patch of Paradise
Have a balcony built for two?
That’s okay!
Reasons we love balconies: they’re a space to sip morning coffee ☕, enjoy evening meals 🍜🥘, chat about life with friends 👩👩👧, take in the view or just let your mind wander.
Plus, you don’t need a big balcony to make it a space you love. Even the smallest of outdoor spaces have huge potential and with some greenery, small space furniture, and fairy lights, anything is possible. Especially if you plan on growing plants, watching the sunset, or even hanging out your clothes to dry. However, you don’t have to worry.
Balcony means a platform enclosed by a wall or balustrade on the outside of a building, with access from an upper-floor window or door.
Innovate your terrace by using some of these tips and tricks.
Put Your Green Thumb to Work
You can transform even the smallest of balconies into an enchanting garden. Use a variety of plants in pots and planters on the floor, as well as in hanging pots, and use every inch of available space to innovate your balcony into an outdoor green oasis.
Be careful to place plants that need sunlight on the outer periphery. Try using an interesting mix of flowers , 🌷🌹greenery, 🌿and succulents to create layers and add interest.
After all your hard work tidying up your garden, don’t forget to water them regularly and take care of them. A dry brown garden is something you don’t want.🌻
GO FULL COLOR SET UP SEATING AREA
If you want to enjoy your afternoon tea or the sound of rain in the comfort of your balcony, you will need to set up comfortable seating space. This can be tricky with smaller balconies, but there are still plenty of ways to do it.
Change the seating covers of your balcony furniture. Add bold and vibrant colors, maybe a hand-crocheted throw or changing the pillow covers of your chairs would do the trick.
First, before placing your furniture, check that there is adequate rainwater drainage on your balcony. Next, use outdoor-friendly furniture, which will not rot or fade under harsh weather conditions. While one way to create seating is to install a bench or chair into a groove in the wall, another method is to keep foldable plastic chairs inside the home that you can pull out to the balcony when needed.
If space allows on your balcony, a hammock would be just what your balcony needs. Enjoy your afternoon nap in the cool breeze! It is also a good idea to hang a swing where you can sit and enjoy the view.
OPT FOR OUTDOOR LIGHTING
Turn on some bulbs, led lamps, or buy a string of led lights 💡💡 and light up ✨✨ the terrace as you like. If you want a fairytale look in your deck garden, add some lights around the flower pot and a set of LED lights on the railing to perfectly illuminate the space.
The solar lights and the high beams of the terrace roof also create an extraordinary atmosphere. Don’t need to let all lights work, save the LED string and other show lights for some special occasions. Your children will have a memorable birthday party on the terrace.
So, these were some of the best ways to decorate and innovate your balcony on your own.
