Japan commits USD 9.8Mn grants for ISB’s Projects
Islamabad: The Japanese government has allocated further grants totalling around USD 9.8 million for two projects in Pakistan.
These initiatives include “Installation of Weather Surveillance Radar in Sukkur City” and “Extension of Maternal and Child Health Care Facilities in Sindh.”
These grants are primarily intended to improve the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s weather observation and forecasting skills, as well as to support medical services at the Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad/Jamshoro, Sindh.

The Maternal and Child Health Care Facility project, which was first announced in August 2021, proposes to create a new centre at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences in Jamshoro.
This center will be equipped with several departments and services for obstetrics and pediatrics.
