Islamabad: There will be 25 “Sastaa Mobile Bazaars” operating in Islamabad during the month of Ramazan to provide quality groceries to shoppers at discounted prices at their fingertips.
“Citizens can buy vegetables, fruit, and other essential food items at government-notified tariffs for these vehicles, moving into sectors and suburban areas of the federal capital,” Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat said.
Speaking to the media, he said the district administration is making every effort to provide maximum relief to the low-income group, under the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He said around 100 utility stores across the city have also been put into operation to ensure the availability of affordable basic kitchen items.
The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (TIC) had finalized a plan to provide relief to citizens during the month of Ramazan, he said.
Sharing the plan, he said about 10 Ramazan “Sastaa Bazaars” have been set up in various places in the city to control speculation and the accumulation of goods.
The bazaars were established in partnership with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in sectors G-7, G-10, H-9, I-9, E-11, Pakistan City, Lohibher, Aabpara, Bara Kahu, and Tarnol.
To ensure prompt resolution of public complaints, he said two magistrates were delegated to the city, each for rural and sectoral areas.
Magistrates would take action on citizen complaints to be received through social media platforms and other channels such as WhatsApp, the official helpline, and the “City Islamabad” mobile app.
