ISLAMABAD- Turkish Association has shown interest in investing the tourism sector of Pakistan.
Ali Can Aksu, President of Tourism Hotel Managers Association of Turkey, together with his team, called Minister of State / President of the Investment Council, Atif Bokhari, at the BOI office to discuss investment opportunities and offer specialized services / experience in tourism and hospitality in Pakistan industry.
TUROYD is an association of hotels and tour operators that aims to ensure the activation and development of civil society activities in the field of tourism, and to support people and organizations related to the sector. They offer specialized services in 71 countries around the world.
During a presentation, Mr. Ali stressed that the dynamics of tourism have changed radically due to the ongoing pandemic and his association is working on ecotourism. Furthermore, he shared that they are actively looking for new tourist destinations and that Pakistan has the potential to become one of the world’s tourist destinations and the best in the region.

The BOI president welcomed the delegation and informed them about the government’s initiative to promote tourism. The government is studying the possibility of privatizing state-owned tourist sites, which could be an ideal opportunity for interested investors such as TUROYD.
In addition, he added that there could be a collaboration to create specialized institutes that offer training to the hospitality and service industry. Mr. Atif said that by staying in line with our religious and cultural values, the government of Pakistan seeks to promote family tourism and Turkey, which has traditional similar values, can help achieve the goal effectively.
Mr. Ali stressed that TUROYD focuses on promoting the country’s cultural growth in addition to the tourism and hospitality sector and shares his experience and knowledge to promote Pakistan as a tourist destination.

The BOI secretary assured the delegation of all possible assistance to realize their investment efforts in Pakistan. BOI, which is the Pakistani government’s main agency for the promotion and facilitation of investments, acts as a one window facility for foreign investors.
In conclusion, the president of the BOI thanked the delegation and also assured them that the BOI, being the main body of the government of Pakistan for the promotion and facilitation of investments, will support the association in the execution of its plans in Pakistan.
