1505 SCHEMES FOR BALOCHISTAN

The Planning and Development Department has given authorization of Rs55 billion for carrying out new and ongoing schemes for Balochistan. It includes the Public Sector Development Program for the year 2020-21.

Resources informed during a meeting. This was presided over by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani and Chief Secretary retired Captain Fazeel Asghar.

ANNUAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

They held this  meeting to check the Annual Development Program 2020-21. Authorities told  that out of 1,597 new schemes in Balochistan included in the current year’s PSDP, PDWP and DSC has approved 1,505. Whereas,  the finance department had released more than Rs44bn for the new and old projects.

They informed the meeting that they have proposed the land proposed in the Spiny Road area for the construction of new block of Balochistan Civil Secretariat. While they will carry out the construction of new smart building for government departments and directorates at the new site.

CM Alyani said that Balochistan had mineral resources and there were vast reserves of gas, gold, marble and other minerals.

Furthermore, Abdul Sabur Kakar, the Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, while briefing the meeting about the Provincial PSDP Strategy 2021-22, relayed that they have drawn a regular timeline for the preparation of PSDP for the next year.

He added that administrative departments have to submit concept papers by mid-January 2021. While compost clearance committees will clear the concept papers by January 30 later this month.

Similarly, they will announce the preparation of PC-1 from March 1by the Department of Planning and Development. The project will seek technical approval from PDWD and DSC for uplift projects by March and April.

Kakar further said that  we will prepare the first draft of PSDP by May 15while the final draft would be prepared by May 30.

The Roads Secretary also briefed the meeting about the federal and provincial strategic road sector projects included in the Annual Development Program 21-2020.
