Amazon Business Centre Declared Software Technology Park by Ministry of IT and PSEB
On Wednesday, May 20, 2021, the management of the Amazon Outlet Mall signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) to launch a “ Software Technology Park ” within the Amazon Outlet Mall facilities, located in Grand Trunk Road, near the DHA. II.Â
Amazon Business Center is now called Software Technology Park by the PSEB, under the Ministry of Information Technology.
Imarat Group of Companies is one of the leading real estate groups in Pakistan. The group has to its credit more than 8 projects in the federal capital that amount to the construction of over 10 million square feet. The Amazon Outlet Mall is one of their deeper projects as it is Pakistan’s first factory outlet. The leadership of the Imarat group has always been a strong advocate of the many benefits of technology in the real estate sector.
The management of the Imarat Group has gladly accepted to rent a space, distributed over 3 floors, to the Ministry of IT, to develop a unique software technology park. The goal is to attract industry professionals to work to promote Pakistan’s technology industry. PSEB, which is an IT industry facilitator, will market and extend all possible support to populate the software technology park under the MOU.
The PSEB, established under the 1984 Companies Ordinance, has its registered office in Islamabad. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place in the second-floor office of the Evacuee Trust Complex in sector F-5, Islamabad. The signatories included the President of the Imarat group of companies, Shafiq Akbar, and the Managing Director of the PSEB, Osman Nasir. Also present were the directors of the group, Mr. Farhan Javed and Mr. Sharjeel A. Ehmer
