CDA reclaims land in Shah Allah Ditta

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICT) conducted a massive operation against the territorial mafia in the Shah Allah Ditta area of ​​Islamabad on Wednesday January 27, 2021.

According to officials, about 100 kanal of dirt were recovered during the operation. Land mafia illegally occupied 800 kanals of government forest land. They carried out plotting and construction of the hoarded land. The operation was attended by the CDA enforcement department, DMA machinery, the district administration and the police.

The operation was done to recover forest land from the  land mafia. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Hamza Shafqaat said. “We have recovered 100 kanals of land from land mafia while operation in the area will continue,”

Land Mafia  enjoy  political acumen and links with unscrupulous elements in the police and administration have carved out plots on encroached land  and sold it to people who even started building them.

According to details, the “surprise” operation was conducted jointly by the CDA and the ICT Administration and with the help of the police. CDA acquired about 800 kanals of land to Shah Allah Ditta in 1989. A strong mafia was behind this and had started building apartments on the acquired land. Illegal structures near street 2 Shah Allah Ditta Street were demolished.

Officials said the operation will continue until around 100 kanals have been recovered in Zone-3. l construction on that land was demolished on the site. The operation will continue throughout the week. The officials said Instructions were issued to stop building construction on the land.
