COAS: Tourism, Sports, And Business Activities in Pakistan are Safe

TOURISM, SPORTS, AND BUSINESS ACTIVITIES IN PAKISTAN ARE SAFE: COAS

The Greek ambassador meets with COAS Bajwa and praises Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace.

RAWALPINDI: General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), informed Greek Ambassador Andreas Papastavrou, who visited him at GHQ on Tuesday, September 21, 2021that Pakistan is secure for all types of foreign tourism, sports, and commercial activities.

 

“We welcome robust bilateral exchanges in all areas of shared interest,” the army commander added.

The discussion focused on issues of mutual concern, including the regional security situation, particularly the present situation in Afghanistan, and collaboration in a variety of sectors, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) media statement.

Pakistan, according to the Army Chief, remains dedicated to working with its international partners for regional peace and a stable and prosperous future for Afghans.

The visiting dignitary praised Pakistan’s efforts to combat Covid-19 by coordinating a national response.

He also praised Pakistan’s contribution to the Afghan crisis, particularly effective evacuation operations and regional stability initiatives.

In a conversation with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani on September 9, Gen Bajwa reaffirmed the common commitment to provide humanitarian aid to Afghans.

The army commander was cited by the military’s media wing as stating, “Pakistan is committed to cooperating with its international partners for peace in the area and guaranteeing a stable and prosperous future for the people of Afghanistan.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, who is also Qatar’s deputy prime minister, praised Pakistan’s participation in the successful evacuation of Afghans and efforts to maintain regional peace and vowed to continue to enhance diplomatic relations with Islamabad at all levels.

Earlier that day, the Qatari minister met with Prime Minister Imran Khan, who stated that Pakistan has suffered much as a result of the long-running Afghan conflict.

For Pakistan and the region, the prime emphasized the significance of a peaceful, secure, and stable Afghanistan.
