Poet and social worker Noora Ihsas have opened a restaurant called Chai Saaz in the Swat district, the first of its kind in the region. She founded the Chai Saaz in Mingora in collaboration with two other writers.

Noora shared her journey, the difficulties she had to face in opening a restaurant, and she said she faced a lot of hardship from a patriarchal society, as many men discouraged her by telling her that she couldn’t open the restaurant because it wasn’t a woman’s job.
Noora Ihsas has hired cooks for the restaurant but she also works in the kitchen. She also welcomes guests and serves them food.
At the same time, she recognized the men who had appreciated her passion and encouraged her to take this initiative and chose among them the scholars Riaz Ahmad Hairan and Shahab Shaheen.
Several members of civil society attended the restaurant’s opening ceremony and praised it.
Haji Zahid Khan, president of the Swat Hotel Association, said he was delighted to see young people come forward and do business.
“Today it is also a great development that a young woman has shown the courage to open a restaurant. Involving young people in commercial activities will not only prevent them from engaging in negative activities but will also earn them a good amount of money, “he said.
