INTRODUCTION

‘WE SHAPE OUR HOMES, AND THEN OUR HOMES SHAPE US’

Our homes represent us, and vice versa. It is a more mutual relationship than we realize. We choose our home and decide how we will fill it. How we will use it as a canvas to convey ourselves to the world. But our homes have a role in forming us as well. IDEAS FOR YOUR BEDROOM

It is very tempting to decorate your home based on what you think will be appealing to others. How often do we choose colors and styles and artwork with someone else’s voice in the back of our mind, drowning out our own preferences?

One of the most important things to keep in mind while decorating is that your home is about you. You are the one who has to be comfortable there. You are the one that needs to look at the color of the walls and stare at the painting above the mantle every day.

While it is good to have a home that is visually appealing, you must not design your home around other people’s opinions and preferences. Your own desires should rule. Your home should represent your lifestyle, not a false image that you feel pressured to present.

A famous saying says:

‘As we evolve, so our homes should too.’

  • BRING COLOR TO THE BEDROOM

If you keep your bedroom’s walls and furniture neutral, it’s easy to add bursts of color whenever and wherever you wish. Pick one or two colors you love and then repeat the hues in vibrant artwork, bold bedding, and colorful accents. Here, a green duvet, red throw blanket, and colorful pillows energize the otherwise neutral space.

  • TRY BOLD NEW BED LINEN

Nothing looks and feels fresher than new bedding. If you love the idea of new bedding but are short on storage space for bulky comforters and quilts, consider a duvet, switching out the duvet cover every season. Here, shiplap walls work well with navy blue bedding and drapes, as well as with warm red accents. Khaadi, Gul Ahmed, Nishat Linen, So Kamal and Sapphire offer a variety of bed linen. You can create a theme with your bedlinen ie: matching cushions, wall clock, throws and bed linen. These types of themes are easily available at RIZARIES.

  • DREAMY SCENE

Create a sweet spot where a kid will truly love to retreat. Tucking a twin bed with storage below into a corner is a space saver and replicates the cozy feel of a daybed. Stack pillows in the corner to create a welcoming spot to read or listen to music. A perfect canopy hung from the ceiling creates a whimsical look that will make their room feel extra special.

  • LET IT SHINE

Layer different types of lighting throughout the room: Ambient lighting to illuminate the entire area, task lighting to read and see what’s inside drawers. Moreover, an accent lighting to set the mood. White string lights have been a go to every time They are simple and cheap. In addition, they add an extra oomph to your room. They are also perfect for when you want to turn off your bright lights and have a more relaxed lighting.

  • WALL DECOR

‘SIMPLICITY IS THE ULTIMATE PERFECTION’

It is a particularly difficult subject to give general advice on, but I will try. Monochrome walls can look stylish, but our eye looks for interesting details everywhere. If we do not see anything, we feel bored.

Refer to our earlier blog on home decor.

Wall décor can take different forms, meaning that you are not obliged to hang a golden-framed picture on every wall. Paintings, posters, photos, panels, murals, tapestries, maps, collections of postcards or hat.  I could go on and on, but I think you’ve got the idea. You can turn a dull wall into a work of art is simpler than it seems.

  • ADD PLANTS TO YOUR BEDROOM

Bedrooms are a heaven to recharge your battery. Hence,  greenery can go a long way in achieving that sense of serenity. Whether your home is flooded with natural light or relies on lamps and sconces for illumination, there is a houseplant that can thrive in your bedroom. Thus, freshening it for sounder sleep.

Blooming plants have all the health and aroma therapy benefits of green plants. Whereas, they also give you an extra pop of color that can really set your room off. No matter where you place them in a room setting they make a statement that draws the eye. Furthermore, it brightens the room, and with good care they can last a long time.

  • SEATING

A bench, a comfortable arm-chair, an ottoman or just an extra deep window sill. Having somewhere to sit in your bedroom will give the room a more generous and inviting feel. It’s no longer just a space to sleep, but also an area where you can relax, read a book, drink your coffee and take your time while getting ready in the mornings.

CONCLUSION

Follow these tips and your room will definitely be feeling more home-y!

However, if you’re thinking of trying these ideas at home, DO NOT make any decisions until you’ve finished what you started !
