The Swat Motorway’s Second Phase Begins Next Week
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has asked the concerned authorities to make the arrangements for the start of construction on the Swat project’s second phase next week.
He also asked the concerned agencies to accelerate the PC-I for the Dir Motorway project’s land purchase.
According to a statement issued here, Mahmood Khan delivered the directions while chairing a meeting of the on Monday 4 April, 2022.

The meeting was attended by MPA Akbar Ayub Khan, additional chief secretary Shahab Ali Shah, secretary finance Ikramullah Khan, secretary communications and works Ijaz Ansari, special secretaries to the chief minister, and PKHA managing director.
The discussion went over the status of various road projects, including Phase II of the Swat Motorway and the Dir Motorway.
The gathering was informed that an 88-kilometer highway between Chakdara and Fatehpur will cost Rs58 billion to build.
It was reported that Rs6.7 billion had been aside for the project’s land acquisition. It was also disclosed that a construction contract for the project had been signed.
The participants were informed that expressions of interest had been published for the of the 30-kilometer Dir Motorway between Chakdara and Rabat.
