Ramadan 2021: ‘100 Million Meals’ Campaign
Food parcels first distributed to target groups in Pakistan.
Low-income families, refugees, orphans and widows in Jordan, Egypt and Pakistan have started receiving food packages that allow them to prepare their own meals during the holy month of Ramadan.
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), organizer of the “100 Million Meals” campaign, is working with international and local partners in each of the beneficiary countries to ensure fast and efficient delivery of food packages.
Since the campaign launched on April 11, massive donations have continued to arrive from individuals, companies and business people inside and outside the UAE. Each Dh1 donated helps deliver a meal to recipients in select countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Islamabad First To Benefit
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment (MBRCH), in partnership with the UAE Embassy, has started distributing food packages to target groups in Pakistan. So far, essential foods such as flour, rice, lentils, red beans, sugar, oil, dates and tea have been distributed in three villages and neighborhoods in the city of Islamabad.
Jordan Refugee Camps
MBRGI is partnering with the United Nations World Food Program, the Regional Food Banking Network, and humanitarian organizations in recipient countries to ensure food parcels are delivered to the neediest.
The United Nations World Food Program will distribute cash vouchers obtained from the “100 Million Meals” campaign, enough to provide 20.8 million meals in refugee camps in Jordan over the next six weeks. As a strategic partner in the “100 Million Meals” campaign, the World Food Program is helping to provide food support through money transfers and cash vouchers to low-income communities in Palestine and refugee camps in Jordan and Bangladesh.
As the umbrella for local food banks in 13 of the 20 countries covered by the campaign, the regional network of food banks is partnering with the Jordan Food Bank to secure food packages for target groups in Jordan.
The use of cash and vouchers with bio-metric identification has been shown to maximize food safety outcomes among the target population.
They help beneficiaries to ensure access to a diverse and nutritious diet, giving them the ability to select priority needs and presenting benefits to both the buyer and the seller by injecting capital into local markets and economies.
Egypt’s Food Safety Net
To ensure that food packages reach those most in need, the Regional Network of Food Banks is partnering with the Food Bank of Egypt and various charities across Egypt, under the supervision and monitoring of the Ministry of Social Solidarity and addresses of your affiliates nationwide governorates.
Low-income families and disadvantaged people across Egypt received foodstuff such as rice, oil, beans, beans and flour. The food packages distributed to families are sufficient to prepare 240 to 300 meals during the holy month of Ramadan.
A Partnership For The Good Of Humanity
The integrated distribution network, developed in collaboration with MBRGI, the United Nations World Food Program, the Regional Food Banking Network and local charities in the beneficiary countries, ensures rapid food support to the widest possible segment of beneficiaries and maximizes the impact of the campaign aiming to improve life.
