Pakistan has launched its first tourism channel “Discover Pakistan” which will project the soft image of the country to national and international audiences. 🇵🇰
According to reports, the launch of a specific TV channel 📺 to promote Pakistan’s positive image had been underway since 2017.
The channel was launched on March 22, 2021. For about four years, Discover Pakistan’s social media networking page on Facebook played a vital role in presenting the country’s beauty, culture and festivals to the world.
Before Discover Pakistan became a traditional development project, Prime Minister Imran formulated a 12-member tourism-specific national coordination committee in August last year to monitor its progress.
PAKISTAN’S FIRST TOURISM CHANNEL
Discover Pakistan is the first and only tourism 🌄 specific television channel launched in the country. The vision behind the launch of the tourism channel is to show different places in Pakistan and different cultures and traditions coexisting peacefully on an international platform. The channel will also help promote a softer image of the country, as well as its people, and project Pakistanis as a tourist-friendly nation.
Over the past decade, Pakistan has hosted many international vloggers who, after witnessing different cultures, traditions, people friendliness and facilities for international tourists, have made documentaries and travel journals to let the world know how different the South Asian country is ; from its negative portrayal in the mainstream media.

CONTENT CATEGORIES OF DISCOVER PAKISTAN
The channel covers tourism-related events and developments and broadcasts a morning show to show a soft image of the country.
The channel will focus on amplifying the government’s efforts to revive tourism in Pakistan by broadcasting the country’s natural wonders, the scenic beauty of the northern areas 🏔 and historic sites 🏕.
The morning show will bring a mix of segments, including one where the Pakistani achievements will be discussed to bring out their achievements to the daylights and will also provide suggestions for exploring the country.

DISCOVER PAKISTAN ONLINE APP
The new launched tourist channel is available on television and also broadcast on its website. To cater to the large national and international audience, Discover Pakistan’s live streaming is available through its apps present on the Google play store and Apple. 📲 Smartphone users will be able to enjoy live broadcasts, popular shows, documentaries and interact with the tourism community
One of the most interesting features of this online application is that users can create their own profile and upload their own content (images and videos) and share it with the world. There is another tab in the app where you can also purchase equipment for your next trip.
