As part of the ETA framework, Microsoft collaborates with universities helping them in their digital transformation journey through the implementation of a strategic technology framework that helps them build a secure and connected campus, promotes teaching and learning activities, creates opportunities for academic research and increase students’ chances of success with easy access to the latest knowledge and tools.

“There are several programs that are part of this framework that impact the academic life cycle of students and faculty. Programs like Student Hackathon, Technology Focused Boot Camps, Imagine Cup, and multiple online training sessions for over 200+ institutes across the country directly help with technology adoption and help build the workforce for the future. “he added.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced educational institutions to immediately incorporate the technology into their system. During this time, HEC has provided remote learning solutions to guide the continuity of academic activities in universities. To support the same initiative, Microsoft partnered with HEC to bring more than 100 universities and more than 500,000 students to a Microsoft Teams digital hub, which brings together lectures, course content, assignments, in one place, enabling educators to create vibrant learning environments.

It is a robust and functional platform to help universities, colleges and educational organizations shift their core IT and management skills to the next generation of Microsoft technologies, ensuring the best outcomes for students with a 360-degree view of students and activities towards services and support at the right time.

Dr. Tariq Banuri, President of HEC, shared his thoughts during the virtual session “The COVID pandemic has brought many challenges for the education sector in Pakistan, but with the help of Microsoft we have successfully turned them into opportunities. and we have embarked on the journey to transform the education system through digitalization.

ETA with Microsoft describes our efforts to move towards the learning process revolution with a number of initiatives.

These interventions will introduce modern technological tools to enhance the interaction between teachers and students at all levels and provide easy access to knowledge. This cooperation still has a long way to go before the vision of digital Pakistan is realized. “
