Eid ul Azha falls on the 10th day of Zil-Haj. Eid ul Azha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of two Eid festivals celebrated by Muslims to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son to God. Traditionally marked by the slaughter of animals, whose meat is shared with family members and the poor.
The faithful slaughter their sacrificial animals in remembrance of the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim, which continues for three days of Eid.

It is a matter of common sense that, if we dispose of the waste properly, of course, our area will not become a pit of rotten meat and a stench of a slaughterhouse.
This Baqr Eid 🐏 🐑 🐄🐐, let’s decide to sacrifice only meat for the pleasure of Allah and not sacrifice the cleanliness of our slaughter area. After all, cleanliness is next to pity, and if we want our Qurbani to be meaningful, we need to make sure it’s done right, with the purpose of helping others, not leaving confusion and creating problems for others, because that would definitely take away our good deed.
Basic Tips and SOPS for Qurbani Animal Lawn Cleaning Islamabad
A few simple proactive steps can keep every home clean and can contribute to a clean street, lawn, a clean neighborhood, a clean city, and a clean country.
Individual and collective measures can be taken to ensure that our environment is clean after slaughter.
It is better to (qurban) slaughter the animal 🐄 on the lawn or in a flower bed if you have one or in slaughterhouses.
If you are doing Qurbani at home, do it inside the surrounding walls, not outside your door or even near the door, to make sure that the spill does not pass through your door onto the street.
If you don’t have any space inside your house (and since the street is publicly owned and doesn’t belong to you) you can look for the nearest commune where you have permission to legally perform your Qurbani, as you won’t want to invalidate your Qurbani doing it incorrectly.
It is advised that it is possible to collect blood in a large bucket, dilute it (one part of the blood to nine parts of water), and use it as an iron / mineral-rich liquid fertilizer, especially for trees, shrubs, and roses.
Do not add blood/guts to the compost bin/pit/pile, as this will attract pests of all kinds. The entrails can be buried (deep enough so that scavengers don’t dig them up and their putrid smell can’t emerge) near tree roots. They will decompose over time and feed the plants/soil in the process.
If you only have cemented areas, butcher near a drain so you can wash away all debris easily. Have a hose, brooms, windshield wipers, and mops ready to wash away all the stains before they dry out and become an oasis for flies.
Make sure that the water flows into the drain inside the boundary wall and not into the street where it can accumulate and create a cesspool of bloody water which is an extremely hygienic health hazard.
Use large disposable sheets for the butcher to mince the meat and dispose of it as soon as possible. Tell your butcher you want a Qurbani 🐄without a zero-footprint Qurbani.
A professional butcher may seem like it costs more at first, but it will actually be better in the long run as you will treat the animal more humane, cut the meat properly, and finish the job quickly, efficiently, and neatly.
While storing meat for distribution or storage, collect leftovers.
Decide in advance who will receive the “siri”, “paya”, leftover, and other spare parts and pre-plan the time and place for their collection as soon as possible.
Put all rubbish, including excrement and fodder, in a garbage bag and close the mouth of the bag. Cover the bag in a container.
Leaving it uncovered will attract scavengers such as cats and crows who will negate its cleaning. Wait for the garbage truck to enter your lane to pick it up.
Don’t put it out the door or throw it on the street or in front of someone else’s house. If you don’t want garbage in your house, find the nearest garbage cart and put the sack inside this cart.
Do not throw it near or around the car. Explain this to your housekeeper and point out that empty, open spaces are not landfills.
Help Your Local Sanitation Department
-Help them help you by collaborating with them. They can only keep the area clean if you play your part too.
– Be aware of your cleaning schedule so that you or your helper are ready with garbage for collection when they are in your way.
– Help them monitor the waste management operation by being alert and reporting any violations. If you find trouble spots, report them to the hygiene department.
– Keep their numbers handy so you can stay in touch with them if needed.
-Following these simple steps of common sense and courtesy can make the difference between a Qurbani 🐐 🦌 who truly helps others rather than one who becomes a hindrance.
Eidul Azha SOPs: Mandatory For Animal Sellers
This year, it is mandatory for animal sellers across the country to get vaccinated against the novel coronavirus and perform rapid antigen tests outside of livestock markets.
The National Command and Operations Center has issued new standard operating procedures for Eid ul Azha to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. Vendors are not allowed to set up maweshi mandis in cities and small districts.
The markets will be set up in open spaces outside the cities. This year, the government encouraged people to buy animals for slaughter online.
Here are other guidelines that have been announced:
- Maximum 1,700 pets allowed in a market
- The livestock markets will be open from 7 am to 7 in the afternoon.
- Setting up livestock markets in open spaces outside the city.
- Ensure sanitation outside the markets, temperature controls at the entrances, masks, and social distancing
- Covid-19 vaccination mandatory for pet sellers
- The animal stations will be installed at a distance of two meters.
- No handshakes or physical contact
- Buyers and sellers should wear gloves before handling animals.
- People showing coronavirus symptoms will not be able to enter the markets
- Periodic disinfection of the markets
The government has also issued guidelines for Eid prayers. These include:
- People to perform ablutions at home.
- Separate entry and exit points outside mosques
- The Namazi will be screened for fever before entering the mosque
- During the prayers, a social distance of at least one meter must be guaranteed.
- Namazi will bring prayer mats from home
- No carpets inside the mosques.
- Mosques will be vacated 10 minutes after the prayer ends to avoid socializing
- Windows and doors must remain open for ventilation.
- Access to the mosques will not be allowed to the sick, the elderly, and children under 15 years of age
- No hugs or handshakes
- People were encouraged to avoid shopping and attending meetings. Market overcrowding should be avoided at all costs.
