Kitchen Maintenance Tips For Eid-ul-Azha

Eid ul-Azha Kitchen Cleaning Tips That Are Super Easy

We have Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Azha. But Eid ul-Azha/Qurbani Eid is an incredibly busy time. The house is full of guests. No matter how you work, the house somehow turns into a complete mess. Your kitchen is probably ready, as it should be… After all, many things happen in the kitchen during Qurbani Eid, from dividing Qurbani meat 🥩 to refrigeration and cooking meat dishes.

Kitchen Maintenance Tips For Eid ul-Azha

Pakistani kitchen cleaning tips that are super easy and could save you time for other house chores, I wouldn’t be wrong if I said that the kitchen is the heart of the house and especially in Pakistan the kitchen is the place where females spend most of the time. So kitchen cleaning is extremely important because it is where most of the germs reside too, so this article is about simple tips for cleaning the kitchen in Pakistan.

Pre Eid cleansing is an important step. Once you’re done with the ride, grab the cleaning products and start sorting things out one by one.

Cleaning Bowls and Utensils

Kitchen

Dividing the Qurbani meat requires the use of many bowls and utensils, which require thorough cleaning with dish soap. The fat and blood from the meat 🥩  gets into these bowls and utensils during the meat cutting process. After a while, if left like this, they start to smell. This is why they use hot water and dish soap to clean these items. They also include the knives and blades that were used during the Qurbani. But remember to clean all their water well. Even a little water will produce rust.

Get the Right Cleaning Tools

Kitchen

If you have furniture with a laminate, acrylic, or PU finish, simply wipe it down quickly with a soft cloth and a mild all-purpose cleaner. You can also use a 50:50 solution of white vinegar and water. The important thing is that you do it regularly to avoid the accumulation of oil and dirt. Pay particular attention to furniture near the cooking area, as this is where most of the kitchen fumes collect.

Be Careful with Stains

If your cabinets are wooden and have a melamine finish, they can be cleaned in much the same way. Dry the stains in one go so that the surface does not stain. Water can also leave a stain, so be careful!

Beware with the Hot Vessels

Kitchen

Avoid keeping very hot items on wood or laminate surfaces. They can burn or break. Keep a cloth or cork material.

Avoid any Leakage

Any drips or outflows from the kitchen washbasin or sink should be repaired immediately. Moisture will ruin cabinets and shutters and can cause them to warp. For the same reason, avoid hanging wet tea towels or towels over the blinds. Continuously humid circumstances can lead to mold or mildew.

Avoid Spillage

If your kitchen countertop is made of a porous material like marble, make sure there are no citrus juices like lime or orange. The marble will react with the acid in the lime and cause permanent discoloration and pitting. Likewise, turmeric can also cause stains, so if there are any spills, be sure to clean them up right away.

Cleanliness is the Key

Kitchen

Have separate cleaning cloths for cleaning dishes, shelves, and cabinets. Never mix them, as you may stain the furniture with grease or detergent.

Clean appliances such as the oven, microwave, and hob thoroughly after each use. Clean with a soapy solution containing a little lemon so that the oil and grease are effectively cleaned. After a thorough cleaning, wipe with a dry cloth or towel so that the surfaces do not show water stains.

Coping with pests and cockroaches

Kitchen

Cockroaches  :cockroach: may start making their way into your kitchen if you don’t keep it clean, especially at night. Never leave food uncovered and always keep wet waste covered with an airtight lid. Once a week, you should use a herbal pesticide to keep your kitchen pest-free 🦟 🦗.

Separate Waste

Kitchen

Get wet and dry containers of the right size for your needs. If your trash is only taken out once every two days, you will need larger containers so they don’t overflow.

Cleanliness of Refrigerator

Kitchen

The next stop on your post-Eid cleaning bonanza should be the refrigerator. Most Pakistani homes are equipped with a deep freezer or refrigerator of some kind to help them store frozen produce all year round. But a time of year when this gadget is the center of attention is Bakra Eid or Eid-ul-Azha when you will not only be storing your Qurbani 🥩  in the freezer but neighbors and relatives will also ask you to keep theirs if they wish to have some space available in your freezer.

Kitchen

Once we have finished dividing and cleaning the meat, it is stored in the refrigerator. Due to the excessive amount of meat and lack of time, we keep them anyway without thinking too much. We don’t even think about how much damage it can do to the refrigerator. So, once the Eid fever has passed, it’s time to take out all the meat, clean the inside of the refrigerator properly. Otherwise, the inside of the refrigerator will start to smell bad.
